I am a true fan of the “pay it forward” movement. I find it very gratifying to do small things for people and ask not to be paid back but for them to pay it forward. I was at a fast food establishment the other day and a lady in front of me was struggling to decide what she wanted (could afford). So I politely asked her what she wanted to get and she told me. She was about $1.50 short so I paid the balance. Maybe one day that person will do something (anything) for someone else. What a concept.
I am still volunteer driving for the American Cancer Society and Jewish Family services. I find it really rewarding and am so glad that I am able to do this. I have met some very interesting people that have opened my eyes to a lot of different things.
I also volunteered at a Holocaust Survivors Lunch. It was a privilege to meet these people.
Carpe Diem.
P.S. What the hell else am I supposed to do ? I don’t have a job ! :-)
