Ring Side Seat

Hi everyone, it's Diana (the wife). Well, it finally came-the last day of radiation!!! The cumulative effects of 7 weeks of radiation and 6 weeks of chemo are manifesting themselves fully now. To watch helplessly as Adrian endures the pain and suffering of treatment has not been easy for the family- I can't imagine being the patient! I am extraordinarily proud of him for not giving up on us and facing this disease with determination, strength and resolve. Soon, he will be able to eat and taste food again and re-gain those lost pounds. I may have to hone my culinary skills. I can't remember what life was like pre March 5, but I know it will never be the same again.

  1. Ade and Diana-
This marks the end of a huge accomplishment on Adrian's part. Like a runner in a marathon, he has now reached the finish line, and needs to recuperate! It was a long and grueling run, and now is the time to pull himself together. It will clearly take time, after all he's been through. Culinary skills will be a big boost for him, as nutrition is always important in fighting the battle Ade is fighting. He is to be admired for all he's endured; we know it was tough as hell. It WAS hell. But, now, he can take time to recover and get his bearings! Arian! You will be turning the corner, but, yeah, you've just been dealt another blow--the last one that will help to get you on track! Hang in there, dear Adrian, and know that we are all cheering you on, sending you lots of positive energy and love, to encourage you to keep going and get beyond this rough road! Hoping you can start to see the light at the end of this long and rocky tunnel. Get some R&R, dear Man. XXXXEm and Moose

  4. Bionic Hoser-Man & Diana! Yahoo! You have been an inspiration, Adrian. I am so glad for you that you have achieved this milestone - it has been grueling no doubt, but now it is over, and you can concentrate on healing, recovering from the chemo and radiation, gaining back some weight and strength. Thank you for sharing this personal battle with your friends. Please keep this blog going to let us know how you're doing in the days and weeks ahead. We'll keep you and your family in our prayers.

  6. Hi Adrian-
Wanted to check in and let you know that I am thinking about you. Just bc there's no entry from you doesn't mean that I am not going to send one to you! I am hoping that you are able to rest and relax a bit now that the "XRT" is over. I am hopeful that, day by day, you will start to recover from your treatment, and that swallowing becomes easier daily. Sending you good vibrations from Beantown! Take care of yourself.

When Adrian comes out the other side of this be prepared for him to charge forward into new areas. Anything he remotely thought he wanted to try in life he will go after.
Looking forward to a couple of beers with him when he is back.
