Passover in New York

Tomorrow Diana, Max and I are driving to New York to "observe" first night Passover with my mom, the Polskin family and other assorted family and friends. Rob and Mike will be unable to join us and are staying at school.

I plan to ask for directions to New York as I don't want to spend 40 years wandering around the New Jersey turnpike like our forefathers did many years ago, wandering around the desert when they left Egypt. Ha ha ! I can't wait to spend 8 days consuming large quantities of laxatives to counter the effects of Matzo.

Seriously, to all my family and friends observing the holiday of passover I say chag sameach (happy holidays).

Mugabe and the White African

Last night I watched the documentary Mugabe and the White African. It is truly amazing how such a wonderful country has been decimated by this tyrant, Mugabe. I was so amazed and impressed at the courage, strength and resilience of the farmers and their families involved in this particular story. The same would hold true for all the other farmers and families whose farms were taken.

This documentary is a must see. I will warn you that it is upsetting and heartbreaking to watch. I was angry, sad, and frustrated at watching this family go through so much hardship. You realize how much is lost when these farms are taken over and doled out to all the political patrons and friends of Mugabe. In this particular case Mike Campbell, his family and their 500 employees lost everything.

Sadly Mike Campbell passed away a few days ago. Even though I did not know him, I offer my condolences to his family.

Mid-life crisis - hardly

No, it's not a Ferrari or a 25 year old Scandinavian girlfriend. It's a rock concert.

On April 22nd Michael, Me and Brian ( a good friend from Toronto) are going to see RUSH in concert here in Baltimore. It's a long story but many years ago myself and Brian flew the band around on a couple of trips. They are 3 of the nicest and most talented guys I have ever had the pleasure of being around. I can't wait.

It will be great to see Brian again and also, to be at a concert with my son.
